Come with us as we take one of the most scenic drives ever from Whitehorse through the breathtaking mountains and head down to the Pacific Ocean to the historic town of Skagway, Alaska.

This tour is a very enjoyable day of travel, we will make many stops along the way, including the picturesque Emerald Lake, Carcross, Fraser and more… Several site visits off the beaten path all the while enjoying local stories, fresh mountain air and numerous chances to practice your photography skills. What do I need to bring? 
Dress for the weather, camera, sturdy footwear (uneven gravel, sand & dirt in places), Passport, U.S. money if desired (most places do accept the major credit card companies). 

Why do I need my passport?
Skagway is across the Canada/U.S. border, you will not be allowed through without a valid passport.

What does Skagway mean?
Skagway has Tlingit roots – the name is derived from their “Skagua” or Shgagwei” which means “a windy place with white caps on the water”.

What is Fraser?
Fraser is the area on the South Klondike highway where the White Pass Train meets the highway at the Canadian border crossing. 

What do we do for Lunch?
We give you 1-1.5hr (depending on arrival and pick-up times) to have free time which you may choose to take a lunch break or grab a snack while walking around on your own. 

What are we not allowed to bring across the border? 
As the transport tour company, we are strict about the following: 

  • No alcohol, illegal drugs or cannabis
  • No wildlife parts or plants
  • No fruit, vegetables or meat
  • No firearms or contraband

Tour souvenirs can be purchased, however declaration cards will be completed for Canada Border Services. WWWTours has the right to inspect all bags to ensure you are declaring ALL goods purchased.

How long do we stop in Carcross?
We drive into Carcross and have a 10-15min rest (bathroom, picture or grab a coffee on your own), then we do a short drive through the village and head out so we can give you more time in Skagway to enjoy.

What if I am detained at the Canadian or U.S. border?
It will be your full responsibility to find a ride back to U.S. or Canada.

Besides my passport, do we require any other paperwork?
Please check the country you come from for all required visas (work, student, etc.) that you may need to enter the United States. 
If you are travelling with your child(ren) and ONE parent only, you will require written permission to take the child(ren) out of the country. 
Entering into the United States depending what country you are from will require a fee, fingerprints and picture at the U.S. Border Service Station. 
WWWTours is required to submit completed passenger manifests to U.S. Border Services at least 48hrs prior to the tour/transport departure. This is a required pre-clearance check which gives us advance notice of passengers who may not be admissible into the United States.
