#1 Kluane National Park– Light Sightseeing Explorer

The ‘Kluane Country’ Tour is a perfect day trip for the light explorer.  Why rent a car? Let us do the driving and we will share the local culture, knowledge, and facts about spectacular Kluane country. Of course, we will be on the famous Alaska Highway with stops along the way to walk or sit and enjoy the majestic untouched special park places with possible wildlife viewings experiences. The tour starts from downtown Whitehorse heading west out of town and follows the route heading to interior Alaska.  As we head closer to the gateway community of Haines Junction, the amazing St Elias greets you with its grandeur peaks.  A stop to stretch the legs, breathe in the mountain air and enjoy some free exploration at the Parks Interpretive and Da Ku Cultural Centre before heading south on the Haines Highway to a picturesque lake to enjoy a delightful healthy lunch while you fill your senses with nature.  This is the heart and soul of the Yukon as we stop at mountainside and enjoy the glacier water of the immense lake surrounded by scenery you only see in a magazine.  Then we have options to choose where to go and enjoy depending on the group – maybe a short hike to a viewpoint to ensure you get the full feeling of the vastness of Kluane country surrounding you with panoramic views for your camera to capture or maybe enjoy another lake shore stop to enjoy the vastness of this area.  Kluane area options to enjoy and customize.  Eventually we will head back towards Haines Junction and enjoy one last stop before heading back to Whitehorse.  Lots of driving, photo stops, local knowledge, optional short strolls can customize to meet the groups needs and of course a delicious lunch all in one day.  You will be ready for a little nap even on the way back. All levels welcome. Dress for the weather and sturdy walking shoes.
